Suit filed against education officials

MANILA, June 21, 2010— A lawyer of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines has led a group of parents in filing a class suit against education officials for including sex education in schools’ curricula.

Atty. Jo Imbong, CBCP Legal Office executive secretary, and 30 other parents went to court Monday seeking to redress of their grievances as the education department began implementing the UNFPA-assisted project “Institutionalizing Adolescent Reproductive Health through Lifeskills-Based Education.”read more »

Thousands of people visit St Anthony's Shrine in Colombo for anniversary

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka,June 15, 2010--The 175th anniversary of St Anthony’s Shrine was celebrated last Sunday, 13 June, in Kochchikade, in the heart of the Sri Lankan capital.

Thousands of people of every ethnic, linguistic and religious background took part in the Masses, which started at 4 am, and the procession that made its way through the streets of Colombo.

Andrea Bocelli clarifies that his message is pro-life, not merely anti-abortion

Church needs faithful, passionate priests, says apostolic nuncio in Paraguay

Caritas marks 20 years of service in Cambodia

Jesuits slam tribal region dam plans
